The Yakima Valley AVA was established in 1983. Planted in 1997 by Scott Greer with an elevation of 1,120 to 1,230 feet. A total of 80 acres with 35 planted with Cabernet Sauvignon. The soil is very shallow silt and loam with a basalt base. The fruit is displayed with balanced acidity, bright cherry/red fruit hi-tones followed by a nice spice and mineral undertones this is the benchmark for the Yakima Valley. This AVA continues to be an important backbone to our Cabernet program year after year.
